Brief Description: Psychological safety is a critical part of optimizing the learning environment. For learning to occur, trainees must feel safe to take risks and make mistakes. If they feel that they will be punished, humiliated or unfairly remediated for making mistakes, this can lead to burnout, depression, lack of empathy, and decreased career satisfaction. The goal of this workshop is to help attendees address the importance of psychological safety in the training environment within their home departments and schools in a systematic way.
